Blogger is one of the most popular blogging platforms for both personal and professional blogs, and Cloudflare is a trusted and highly popular Content Delivery Network (CDN) that everyone has probably heard of.

How to add Domain to Blogger using CloudFlare

In this article, I will show you how to use a domain name via Cloudflare for blogger easily.

Before entering the article, let's learn some more about Cloudflare.

What is Cloudflare?

Cloudflare in Blogger

Cloudflare is a Content Delivery Network (CDN) consisting of hundreds of data centers located in more than 100 countries. Founded by Matthew Prince in 2009, Cloudflare has grown to handle 5 to 10% of traffic..

How does Cloudflare work?

Caching

A CDN like Cloudflare uses a process called caching. Caching is where data is stored that is checked regularly for faster retrieval.

Cloudflare will check your website regularly to keep its cache updated. Cloudflare CDN will then serve that cache to any visitor that requests your site.

The main benefit of using Cloudflare is that visitors around the world will download your website from a location that is physically closer to them, giving them faster load times.

It also means that since some requests are handled entirely by the CDN, your server will be under lower load and more visitors will be able to view your site at the same time.

Traffic filtering

This acts as another layer of protection against external threats, along with your firewall and other security measures you may have taken.

Cloudflare is known for implementing some of the most powerful filtering techniques on their network, which your website can take advantage of.

DNS network

Cloudflare is more than just a CDN - they also operate the world's highest performing Domain Name System (DNS) network.

In the default configuration, Cloudflare is set up as your domain name server, so your visitors will enjoy the fast DNS resolution provided by the Cloudflare network.

What are the benefits of Cloudflare?

Cloudflare has a free plan that allows you to try out many of their benefits without paying a fee.

Here are four key benefits of using Cloudflare:

  • Protection against malicious traffic
  • Reduce latency
  • Reduce server load
  • Generic SSL Certificate
